In this class participants will explore the power of honeybees as a metaphor for resilience and connection. Participants will gather virtually with Ang Roell author of ‘Radicalize the Hive’ and lead beekeeper at They Keep Bees, a queer & trans led beekeeping project. Roell will open the session with storytelling and embodied practice before small groups convene for a reflective exercise in building connection & capacity.

Ang Roell is an author, beekeeper and collaborator. Ang founded and co-runs They Keep Bees, a queer & trans led beekeeping project. They are the author of ‘Radicalize the Hive’ and are currently collaborating with partners in the Northeast to launch a queen bee rearing school for beekeepers who want to use generative & nurturing practices to be better honeybee stewards.

Ang is a white, Ukrainian/German nonbinary queer person living and working on Nipmuc, Pocumtuc and Wabanaki land in Western Massachusetts and working on Miccosukee land in the Southeastern part of Florida. Their spiritual practice centers ancestral dialogue, spirit guides and ritual to heal intergenerational trauma and build capacity for interconnectivity.
